LicenseGuard

LicenseGuard turns your WordPress site into the licence and update server for the software you sell.

Keys

• Crockford-alphabet keys (no I/L/O/U) with a checksum character and an HMAC signature clients can verify offline
• Plans, seats, expiry (or lifetime), trials, feature flags, customer and order reference, internal notes
• Suspend, revoke (frees every seat), renew, delete; expiring-soon list; abuse alerts when a key is hammered

Activations

• activate takes a seat per install fingerprint — idempotent, so a re-install never burns a seat
• validate is read-only; deactivate releases; grace period after expiry; optional "validation requires an activation"
• Every verdict is audited with IP; the Activations tab shows every live install with version, PHP and WordPress

Private update server

• Upload release zips (stored in a protected folder, served only through signed, expiring links)
• Staged rollout by percentage, changelog, min WP/PHP, tested-up-to, download counts, SHA-256
• The client SDK plugs into the normal WordPress updater and the "View details" modal

Sell

• WooCommerce: map a product to a LicenseGuard product (plan/seats/days); keys are minted when the order is paid, stored on the line item, shown on thank-you, My Account and in the email; refunds revoke
• Easy Digital Downloads: _lg_product on a download; {license_keys} email tag
• Customer portal shortcode [licenseguard_portal]: status, expiry, seats, release a device, download the latest release

Integrate

• Webhooks with per-endpoint secrets and X-LicenseGuard-Signature (HMAC-SHA256) for license.issued / activated / deactivated / renewed / revoked / expired / abuse and release.published, with a delivery log and ping
• Public REST API under /wp-json/licenseguard/v1/ — the key is the credential, no API token to leak
• One-file client SDK (LicenseGuard_Client) with an example plugin
